When the Bad Days aren’t so Bad Anymore

This morning I woke up and realized that I wasn’t sad, worried, or anxious. For more years than I can remember April has brought dread, overwhelming sadness, and incapacitating anxiety. I would just find my way through it and hope to do so without pushing everyone away.

Four years ago I decided it was time to give all of this to the Lord and for a month I found a way to focus on Him throughout each day and the sad moments weren’t as sad. For the next few years I would dive into baking, adventures, and ways to distract from the sad and give myself something to look forward to.

Today is April 1, 2016 and I don’t have a plan for the next 30 days. And I’m ok with that. Actually I’m good with not having a plan. I woke up this morning and realized that I wasn’t sad, worried, or anxious. I was content and joyful in the Lord.

My first response was to say, “God is so good!” Then I remembered a sweet friend’s saying years ago, “God is still God and He is still on the throne!” God IS good today and God was so good over the years when I was in my dark hole of sadness.

This morning’s take-a-ways… God is bigger than the dark hole. God is good in the sadness and in the joy. God can and will overcome the sadness, worry, and anxiety in His time – not mine. God is STILL God and He is STILL on the Throne!

What if you just went and hugged a friend today and let them know you love them and care!
