The other night I was walking at the park and there was the cutest family riding bikes. The dad was trying to encourage the little boys to ride and keep up with big brother who was keeping stride with mom. I would try to encourage and joke with the little boys that I was passing them on foot while they were on bikes.
All of the sudden the smallest of the boys comes riding past me to catch up with his mom. From that moment on all I could hear was “this for yooouuu, mommy!” He would go as fast as his little legs could go and with a sing-songy voice yell, “this is for yooouuu mommy!” time and time again.
It got me thinking… how often do I truly do something for God. How often do we as God’s children do the little things in life and with all of who we are yell in hearts (or out loud) “This for yooouuu God! This for yooouuu!!!!” It’s not often enough for me.
With students we not only need to encourage them to do everything for God but we need to be that living example that shows them how to study, be in relationships, share the gospel, play basketball, and everything else for the Lord! We are commanded to do just that in 1 Corinthians 10:31 “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
